Semesters & Deadlines
Academic Calendar & Enrollment Policy
Our Semester Structure
At HBS, we operate on a dynamic eight-week semester model designed to offer flexibility and focused immersion in your studies. The academic year is divided into three main semesters, each further split into two intensive sessions (A and B):
Spring Semesters (January – April)
Spring A | Spring B
Summer Semesters (May – July)
Summer A | Summer B
Fall Semesters (August – December)
Fall A | Fall B
Enrollment Guidelines
To maintain active student status, each student must be enrolled in at least one course per eight-week session. Depending on your academic goals and availability, you may enroll in up to four courses each semester.
Course Load & Schedule
During each eight-week session, students generally take two to three courses, though you may choose a lighter or heavier workload depending on what best suits your personal and professional commitments. To accommodate busy schedules while maintaining academic rigor, each class meets once per week for a focused, two-hour session.
Attendance Requirements
We believe that consistent engagement is the cornerstone of academic success. To ensure a collaborative and enriching learning environment, attendance is mandatory for all enrolled students.
Absence Allowance
Students are permitted to miss no more than 20% of total class meetings per session. Exceeding this limit may result in academic penalties or course failure.
Notification Policy
For any foreseeable absence, students are required to provide advance notice to their instructor. Prompt communication allows for proper planning and demonstrates professional responsibility.
Making Up Work
Any remedial work, assignments, or make-up exams are offered solely at the instructor’s discretion. Approval is not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
For questions regarding specific course schedules, enrollment limits, or excused absences, please contact your academic advisor or the Office of the Registrar.
