Financial & Tuition Aid
At Houston Bible Seminary, we believe that financial constraints should not hinder a student’s ability to answer their call to ministry. We are committed to supporting our students through a generous tuition assistance program designed to recognize academic excellence, spiritual dedication, and financial need.
The Seminary is pleased to offer scholarship funding—made possible through the generosity of our donors and alumni—to deserving candidates across all programs. Our goal is to make quality theological education accessible to those whom God has called to serve.
Scholarship Program
Houston Bible Seminary awards scholarships to qualified incoming and returning students based on merit, promise for ministry, and overall candidacy. These awards are highly competitive and are granted to individuals who demonstrate exceptional academic potential and a clear commitment to Christian service.
Scholarship Award:
- Deserving candidates may receive a scholarship covering up to 90% of tuition costs.
- The exact percentage awarded is determined individually based on the strength of each application.
Scholarship Award Determination
All scholarship decisions are made solely at the discretion of the Admissions Office. The Admissions Office reserves the right to evaluate each candidate holistically, considering academic records, spiritual character, ministry involvement, and other relevant factors. All scholarships are awarded on a funds-available basis, and the decisions of the Admissions Office are final.
How to Apply for Tuition Assistance
To be considered for scholarship aid, candidates must complete and submit the official Scholarship Application Form. Please follow these steps:

- Submit all required transcripts, references, and any additional documents requested by the Admissions Office.
- Indicate your request for scholarship consideration during the admissions process.
- Ensure all materials are submitted by the published deadline.
Annual Renewal & Academic Standing Review
Houston Bible Seminary scholarships are not one-time awards. We are invested in your success throughout your entire program. All scholarships are reviewed and renewed annually for the duration of study within the designated program, provided the recipient remains in good academic standing.
To maintain scholarship eligibility, recipients must meet the following minimum cumulative GPA requirements:
- Master of Arts (MA), Master of Divinity (MDIV) and Certificate program students: Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (B- average).
- Doctor of Ministry (DMin) Students: Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
Renewal Review Process:
- Scholarships are subject to annual review by the Admissions Office.
- Renewal is not automatic and depends upon continued academic performance, adherence to the Seminary’s code of conduct, and available funding.
- Failure to maintain the required academic standing will result in the forfeiture of scholarship renewal for the subsequent academic year.

Tuition and associated fees are payable in full prior to the first class session of each semester. Exceptions may be granted only with prior written approval from the Administrative Office.
